The Body in the Swimming Pool
Series: The Chicken Pox Club
MY THOUGHTS
Back to school and a need a quick pick me up? Or maybe it is an extra boring summer vacay and you need the chills, thrills, and all the feels?
The Body in the swimming Pool by Shabnam Minwalla, is just the book you need!
This book is not as scary as some of Shabnam Minwalla’s other books (Saira Zariwalla Is Afraid), but is perfect for anyone 12 and above. This also seems to be an all new series in the making! Something for young sleuths to get excited about!
Summer is off to a lousy start with Paro, Darius, Nihal, and Sunidhi all suffering from chicken pox. Suddenly, there is news of a dead boy in the swimming pool. Sandra Saldanha, an elderly neighbour, English professor and yoga aficionado is found dead in the swimming pool. Did she fall or was she pushed? The Chicken Pox Club decides to investigate, especially after they get their hands on some pretty interesting information. A mystery that involves looking into the past and piecing information together in the present is what makes this book exciting.
Fast-paced, intelligent, and with twists and turns you don’t see coming, this is another amazing nail-biter from Minwalla. I love the fact that the characters and the story are so relatable. Something this spooky could actually happen in your own housing society!
This the perfect summer mystery read if there ever was one. Pick it up today!
