What I Learnt
MY THOUGHTS
When there are so many things to learn, why do we restrict learning to one staid, boring way? As a parent, I have been through the stress every parent will resonate with when their child shows trouble learning something new or not hitting a milestone on time. Scary questions about learning trouble start to loom, and we begin to compare and hope our child emerges in the top three percentiles. Yes, this is a natural reaction, but take a step back for a moment and think about what happens when we breathe, and shake things up a bit.
What I Learnt is as much a picture book for kids as it is a much-needed reminder for parents.
In this book, a little girl has trouble following along in school. Numbers don’t follow one another, S looks dangerously like a 2, and words are simply too long and confusing to remember! She is so tired trying to follow along in school! That’s when Mom has an idea to make learning fun!
I love this book for the fact that it can make any parent sit up and rethink the way they approach learning. It came to me at a time when exams loomed large, and chaos ensued during evening study hour. This book urges you to strip away the rote learning method and simply look at your lessons from another angle, a more fun one. Children will love the beautiful oil-pastel-like illustrations and resonate with the story. This is a book that is perfect to read aloud when you need a moment to reset with your child. It leads to fun conversations about how you can make learning a tough lesson fun and maybe even try out a few options.
This is a book that is perfect for any age and as mentioned before, any parent! Get your copy today!
